KIPP Texas Public Schools Grab & Go Meal Update

Dear KIPP Texas Families,

It has been an incredible week and wonderful to see so many families at our curbside Grab & Go meal pick-up! We thank you for your continued support during this trying time. We have an update concerning meal service for KIPP Texas Public Schools.

Students will no longer need to be present in order for a parent to pick-up meals.

We are providing essential services in time of a crisis and our food distribution efforts are exempt from emergency declarations and the shelter in place orders in our communities.

You can leave your home to pick-up food under all shelter in place guidelines.

We want to assure you that KIPP Texas has protocols and best practices in place to keep our families and staff safe. This includes hand washing and social distancing protocols, ensuring parents are following distance processes in car lines, and having people on-site whose sole responsibility is ensuring preventative measures are maintained.

Finally, we have had more than 116,000 visits to our KIPP Texas Distance Learning Program. We encourage you to continue to leverage this resource with your students and please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions or concerns.

Thank you for your partnership.
