I believe that every child has the right to an exemplary education. We work as a community to know each child as an individual, cultivate strong relationships between adults and children, and have a "whatever it takes" approach to help kids meet their goals.
Amanda Patterson earned her B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles while working part-time as an assistant kindergarten teacher. She also holds an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Christian Brothers University and a Principal Certification from Angelo State University.
Mrs. Patterson began at KIPP in 2010 when she served as a founding second and third grade teacher at KIPP Raices Academy in Los Angeles. In 2012, she moved to Austin to become a founding Kindergarten teacher and Grade-Level Chair at KIPP Austin Obras. For the last three years, Mrs. Patterson has worked as an Assistant Principal at KIPP Austin Comunidad. She is thrilled to be the Successor School Leader of KIPP Austin Leadership Elementary (KALE) and is passionate about building strong relationships with students and meeting academic achievement goals. When not at school, Mrs. Patterson enjoys spending time with her husband, Taylor, and daughter, Emily.
