Dear KIPP Texas-San Antonio Families,
I have been thinking about you and I wanted to thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we have been adjusting, like you, to the drastic changes in life following the pandemic. I am extremely appreciative of our students, families, and teachers for their positivity, flexibility and resilience.
These are unprecedented times and our priority remains the education, health and safety of our students. We are committed to ensure our KIPPsters remain fed – both with food and with an education that ensures they stay on track for the remainder of the school year.
This has been an ongoing process, as we navigate an uncharted territory of fully remote learning. Our goal is to provide continuous educational opportunities and practice for students while our school buildings are closed, while eliminating as much stress as possible for students, parents, and teachers.
While it is our responsibility to continue to educate students, we are sympathetic to various difficulties that our families are enduring during this time. We truly appreciate all you do at home to support your children. We know it is not easy learning new platforms and taking on this new role for your child, while maintaining your homes, families, and jobs. Please contact your child’s teacher/s if you or your student need support.
Many of you have asked about summer programming and our reopening in the Fall. We are working through the details of these programs and update you once plans are finalized. However, you should know that we are taking into consideration what will be the best possible way to reopen safely and responsibly, with the best interests of students, staff and families at the center of our decision.
We are grateful for your partnership, grace, and patience throughout this time.
