Two Minutes with T2: Anthony Smith, EdD Regional Superintendent, KIPP Texas-Dallas-Fort Worth

Our special column, Two Minutes with T2, introduces you to the members of the KIPP Texas leadership team – also called Team Texas and T2. In this installment, you’ll meet Anthony Smith, EdD., regional superintendent of the KIPP Texas-Dallas-Fort Worth region.

Dr. Anthony Smith took the reins of the KIPP-Dallas Fort Worth as our regional superintendent last year. Before joining KIPP, Tony served in the Denver Public Schools (DPS) for nearly 17 years beginning as a teacher and culminating as instructional superintendent. A champion of equity through education, Tony led dramatic improvements in DPS schools and its entire district. When he’s not working with teachers, school leaders and members of his team, Tony spends time with his wife, Marcy, 12-year-old son Tyson, and 9-year-old son Evan. We caught up with Tony for this edition of Two Minutes with T2.
