Teaching at KIPP Texas
At KIPP Texas Public Schools, we believe excellent teaching is essential to preparing our students to pursue any path they choose – college, career, and beyond – so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.
We Love Our Teachers!
Together, with heart, we build schools where adults love to work and children love to learn! Our dedicated teachers create a culture of support, achievement, and personalized learning to work with each student in the way they learn best. At KIPP Texas, we value and respect the ways our teachers and leaders transform the lives of our students.
Teacher Compensation
Each KIPP Texas region offers a competitive salary based on years of experience. We offer additional stipends for teachers who join our organization with master’s degrees and certifications in high needs areas (Ex: Special Education).
Dedicated Development
Teacher Career Pathway
Teaching is the most important work done each day at KIPP Texas. To recognize the work of our teachers, we have created the Teacher Career Pathway (TCP) with the goal of developing, recognizing, and rewarding excellent teaching. To learn more about TCP, visit our Career Development page.
Teacher Incentive Allotment
The Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) is a provision in Texas House Bill 3 that gives school districts the opportunity to identify the top 30% of classroom teachers state-wide as “recognized,” “exemplary,” and “master”. Individual teachers who earn the state designation will earn thousands of additional dollars annually. KIPP Texas has designated its first group of teachers in spring 2023 with awards ranging from $5,322-$28,322 (annually). More information can be found about TIA at tiatexas.org.
