KIPP Texas’ preview of 2023-24 Academic Calendar is here!

KIPP Texas Families,

Today is the start of Spring Break for our Little KIPPsters, and I hope you plan to carve time to do things that bring you joy every day. Like me, you have likely planned for this week for some time. Let’s use this break to rejuvenate as we get ready for the last and strongest chapter of the school year.

It is with great pleasure that I’m sharing with you our draft 2023-24 academic calendar that has important changes regarding the school day minutes and early-dismissal Fridays.

The 2023-24 Academic School Calendar

We will present the draft calendar to the KIPP Texas Board on April 26. Based on their vote, the calendar will be confirmed or require changes. Please find the draft regional calendars here on the KIPP Texas website. Below are some draft key dates:

First Day of School: Monday, August 14, 2023
Last Day of School: Friday, May 24, 2024
Thanksgiving Break: November 20 – 24, 2023
Winter Holiday: December 22, 2023 – January 7, 2024
Spring Break: March 11 – 15, 2024
Equity and Data Days (no school for students)
- Friday, September 15, 2023
- Friday, November 17, 2023
- Monday, January 8, 2024
- Friday, February 9, 2024
- Friday, March 8, 2024
Rest and Renew Days
- Friday, October 6, 2023
- Monday, April 1, 2024

Removing Early-Dismissal Fridays

To provide consistency for families and Big KIPPsters, the weekly early release day for Little KIPPsters has been removed from the new calendar. Each campus will now have a consistent school day Monday through Friday. Click here to review your school’s updated bell schedule.
