KIPP Texas Together: August Family Newsletter

A Message from the ceo

KIPP Texas Families,

This month, we proudly welcomed more than 32,000 Little KIPPsters back to our classrooms. We started the year with vibrant learning, joyful connections, and a renewed commitment to academic excellence. As we kick off this new school year, we reflect on our progress and the road ahead. One way we measure this is through the state’s accountability system, which helps track how our academic strategy is taking hold, and where we can continue to grow.

On Friday, 8/15 the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released the A–F accountability ratings for the 2024–25 school year, and we are proud to share that for the 24-25SY, KIPP Texas Public Schools earned an overall B rating! With 4 A-rated, 27 B-rated, 18 C-rated, 5 D-rated, and 0 F-rated schools. I am thrilled to share that 57% of our schools earned an A/B rating this year, well surpassing our goal of 45%.

We are especially proud of the incremental gains across our schools, knowing that implementing a new, rigorous curriculum takes time to yield results.

Thank you, KIPP Texas families, for your continued partnership. As the school year kicks off, we would like to take this opportunity to hear from each of you in the survey listed below. Your input and feedback are invaluable to us. Please take a moment between now and Friday, September 12th to complete the survey

I’m excited to see the incredible impact we’ll make together this school year.

With gratitude,

Sehba Ali

KIPP Texas Partner Spotlight 🌟

During Back-to-School Bash, Eagle Scout Candidate and West Fork High School senior Aidan Ledezma partnered with KIPP Texas Public Schools for his Eagle Scout Service Project. With the support from his Troop 9 in Humble, TX and the local community, Aidan received several school items and raised nearly $1,000 to donate 140 backpacks filled with school supplies for our little KIPPsters at KIPP Dream!

The week before school started, volunteers from KPMG dedicated their time and energy to support our Big KIPPsters during their Community Impact Day at KIPP Austin Collegiate. From organizing storage areas to decorating bulletin boards and setting up the front office, they helped transform the campus into a warm, welcoming space for our Little KIPPsters!
