Transportation
The KIPP Texas Public Schools Student Transportation Department is dedicated to providing free, safe, and reliable transportation to all of our students, ensuring they have access to the high-quality education they deserve.
Committed to Our KIPPsters
The KIPP Texas Transportation Team is committed to bring the best experience to our KIPPsters and their families. Here you will find the latest information on what the team is doing to enhance our services to you.
Bus Stops
With over one thousand bus stops across the state, there is a KIPP Texas bus stop within two miles of the home of every student who lives within our transportation zones. Use the maps below to find the closest bus stop to you.
FirstView® Parent App
Use the FirstView Parent App to keep track of your KIPPster’s bus. You can view the bus location, get notified when your bus is near arrival, and receive updates on unexpected delays. Learn more about FirstView using the links provided.
Request Transportation
If you did not register your student for transportation services by April 29, 2024, and want to change or make a new request for school transportation, please submit a request form below. Your student will be automatically added to a waitlist to ensure buses are at a safe capacity at the beginning of the school year. Someone from the transportation department or your child’s school will contact you once space is available and your student is approved.
Transportation registration will reopen on September 1.
If you have questions, please contact the KIPP Texas Transportation Department at ktx.transportation@kipptexas.org
Code of Conduct
We view bus service as an extension of the classroom experience, therefore all KIPPsters are expected to exhibit the same behavior practices when on the bus as they do in the classroom. The Student Code of Conduct applies to everyone both on the school bus and at the bus stop. Please see below to reacquaint yourself with our student discipline policies and parent expectations.
Frequently Asked Questions
I submitted a request form for a bus stop near my home after school started. What happens next?
You will hear back from someone on our transportation team within five business days of your request with an update on your waitlist status. Please note, filling out the form does not automatically guarantee a new bus stop. The form also does not register your student for transportation. Please register your student for transportation in SchoolMint.
Are your buses owned and operated by KIPP Texas?
We are proud to partner with transportation vendors who share our commitment to the safety and access to high-quality education of our KIPPsters. We work with both First Student and Hop, Skip, Drive, depending on the geographic zone.
I have multiple KIPPsters at more than one campus and they ride different buses. Can I still use the FirstView Parent app to track their buses?
Yes, you are able to track multiple bus routes in the app.
How are bus routes determined?
Bus routes are created internally, using the latest technology in school transportation routing.
Do your buses have air conditioning?
While it is not required by law, we ensure all of our buses are equipped with air conditioning. We will do our best to keep our KIPPsters cool during warmer months and encourage bus riders to bring water bottles to stay hydrated.
