A Message from the ceo

Dear KIPP Families and KIPPsters,
Dear KIPP Families and KIPPsters,
As we reflect on all our accomplishments in the month of March, there is a powerful sense of momentum and focus across our schools. This season offered us a unique opportunity to reflect on the holistic support that allows our students to thrive, from the food that fuels their bodies to the emotional guidance that strengthens their spirits.
In March we proudly celebrated National Nutrition Month, recognizing that academic excellence is deeply connected to physical well-being. By prioritizing healthy meals and consistent habits, we ensured that every KIPPster had the energy and mental clarity needed to tackle the challenges ahead. We have also honored School Social Work Month, celebrating the dedicated professionals who serve as the heartbeat of our community. Their unwavering strength and care ensure that every student feels seen, supported, and resilient.
Looking back on our recent St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, we are reminded of how lucky we are to have such a vibrant community. While we enjoyed the spirit of the holiday, we know that the success of our students is not left to luck or chance. It is built through the intentional support of our social workers, the nourishment of our nutrition programs, and the hard work our students put in every day.
As we look toward to upcoming testing across the district, these pillars of support, nutrition and emotional wellness remain more important than ever. These assessments are a chance for our students to showcase the academic success they have earned. You and our families are essential partners in this mission. By ensuring our students remain rested and encouraged, you help them turn their potential into a living continuation of a great story of growth.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our shared mission and for the strength you bring to our community every day.
With deepest gratitude
With deepest gratitude,
Sehba Ali

Empowering the Future: Women’s History Month📚
In honor of Women’s History Month, KIPP Texas was proud to celebrate the visionary women who lead our classrooms and campuses with unwavering dedication and joy. In March, we highlighted powerful stories of empowerment across our regions, including a special video tribute to the female leaders who inspire our Little KIPPsters to dream big and lead boldly. Through these shared stories and vibrant campus celebrations, we honored the vital role representation plays in helping our students see themselves as the next generation of innovators and change-makers. As a Team & Family, we remain committed to fostering an environment where the legacy of the women who paved the way continues to fuel the leadership of the future.

Redefining the Game: Jordan Carrethers on Why PE is the Secret Ingredient to Student Confidence

This March, our Child Nutrition Team worked across the state to elevate every meal we serve, ensuring our culinary standards matched the academic excellence of our classrooms. At KIPP Texas, our mission to prepare students for success in college and career begins at the table, where high-quality, delicious fuel powers the growth and learning of our Little KIPPsters. A major highlight of this commitment was our Austin leadership team’s participation in the Texas Department of Agriculture’s (TDA) inaugural Farm Fresh culinary training at the world-renowned Culinary Institute of America in San Antonio. This elite program provided our chefs with hands-on experience in “Farm to School” techniques, mastering the use of seasonal Texas produce to bring fresh, scratch-based cooking directly to our cafeterias.
Our dedication to local sourcing has already earned statewide recognition, as the TDA recently honored our regions for their success in the Farm Fresh Challenge. We are proud to announce that our Austin team received the “Cream of the Crop” award, Dallas was named “Best of the Bunch,” and our Houston and San Antonio teams were recognized as “Prime Participants.” Beyond the kitchen, our leadership also represented our families at the SNA ( School Nutrition Assoication) Legislative Action Conference, advocating directly with legislators for the policies and funding necessary to keep school meals accessible and nutritious for every KIPP family. Whether we are training with world-class chefs or speaking with lawmakers in Washington, D.C., our goal remains the same: to nourish the whole child and support their journey toward a bright future.

We look forward to continuing this work and serving your children the fresh, high-quality meals they deserve to fuel their path to success.
