The first weeks of school set the foundation for the year, and we’re committed to building a positive academic culture so that every student can thrive in every school, every day. This September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we want to see your child at school every day, ready to build upon their current knowledge and continue their academic gains.
We are dedicated to creating a rigorous and joyful learning environment that supports every Little KIPPster’s long-term success. This means setting and maintaining high academic standards and ensuring that every Little KIPPster has the support and resources they need to thrive and graduate high school prepared for college, career, and beyond.

September is Attendance Awareness Month 📅
Every day counts at KIPP Texas, and we’re committed to helping every student reach their full potential. Consistent attendance is key to academic success, so our goal is that each student misses no more than 4 days of school all year. We can work together to keep our Little KIPPsters on track!
How you can help:
- Make attendance a priority for your family.
- Talk to your child about what they’re learning in school and encourage them to engage with their peers.
- Communicate with your school when you know your child will be absent.
- Set daily routines that include plenty of sleep and getting to school on time.
Together, we can ensure your Little KIPPster’s success and make this school year the best one yet!

A big shoutout to Ca’Mya, our first-ever KIPP Somos Collegiate graduate, to go play collegiate athletics. She’s headed to Manhattan Christian College to play basketball after graduating in May 2024. We love to see our KIPP Texas Alumni doing amazing things!

Join KIPP’s Free Leadership Program for Families!
KIPP Community Architects is a free leadership program for KIPP family members who want to make a positive impact in their communities. Our Fall cohort in Dallas and Austin runs from October to November and is open to all family members in these regions. Apply by Friday, September 20th at 5 pm. Learn more and apply here.
