KIPP Texas Transfers

Parents and guardians seeking a transfer for the 2026-2027 school year during the spring of 2026 must complete re-enrollment and complete the Transfer Form. Upon completing the form and required information, they will be notified of their transfer outcome from 4/27/2026 to 5/8/2026. 

Transfers are granted only for families that meet the following criteria and if space is available: 

• Families with students currently attending different K-8 / Pre-K-8 campuses.
• Families who have moved to an address served by another KIPP Texas school (this includes transfers across the regions we serve). 
• Hardship requests (must detail hardship)
• Guardian is a KIPP Texas employee working at a different campus

For families seeking a transfer during the summer months from 5/18/2026 to 7/24/2026, please contact your school’s front office to let them know you would like to request a transfer. You can find your child’s school contact information at kipptexas.org/our-schools. You will be notified of your transfer outcome shortly thereafter.

Please note that transfers will not be reviewed from 7/29/2026 to 8/21/2026. The in-year transfer window will open on 8/24/2026.

Each KIPP Texas school resides in a geographic priority zone. All students’ home addresses are zoned to specific KIPP Texas Public Schools. Applicants who live within those priority zones will receive priority for that school. Families requesting a transfer from one KIPP school to another due to a change in address will automatically be assigned a school based on priority zone.

Parents and guardians can request an in-year transfer from 8/24/2026 to 3/31/2027.  In-year transfers are granted only for families that meet the following criteria and if space is available: 

• Families with students currently attending different K-8 / Pre-K-8 campuses.
• Families who have moved to an address served by another KIPP Texas school (this includes transfers across the regions we serve). 
• Hardship requests (must detail hardship)
• Guardian is a KIPP Texas employee working at a different campus

If the transfer request is made during the spring re-enrollment window, you will be notified of your transfer outcome from 4/27/2026 to 5/8/2026. If the transfer request is made during the summer or in-year transfer periods, you will be notified of a decision within a two-week period.

KIPP Texas prioritizes approving transfers based on specific criteria and the availability of open seats. If the initial request was not approved, you may follow up with your school to provide additional information if needed to reassess your transfer request.

Students requesting a transfer may be waitlisted if the requested school has no available seats. If a seat becomes available KIPP Texas will review the waitlist before each window and offer a seat to the next student.

No. We cannot guarantee that all siblings will be approved for a transfer at the same time. Transfer spots will be allocated based on the number of available seats in each grade at each school.

The KIPP Texas Public Schools Student Transportation Department is dedicated to providing all students with accessible, safe, and reliable transportation, ensuring they can access the high-quality education they deserve.

Unless stated otherwise by the school, transportation is not guaranteed for students living within a school’s priority zone. Availability varies per route, but schools can provide information on available spots.
