Frequently Asked Questions

How do I request a transfer for this school year?

Parents and guardians can request an in-year transfer during designated times. In-year transfers are granted only for extenuating circumstances. For more information, please contact your student’s school directly. You can find your child’s school contact information at kipptexas.org/our-schools.

How do I request a transfer for next school year?

Parents and guardians seeking a transfer for the upcoming school year must complete re-enrollment for the current year before requesting a transfer. The transfer committee can only process a transfer request once re-enrollment is completed. Please note that the later the request is submitted, the less likely space will be available at the desired school. For more details, please get in touch with your child’s school directly. You can find your child’s school contact information at kipptexas.org/our-schools.

How do I know what my feeder school is?

Visit https://kipptexas.org/our-schools/ and select your region, then select a grade level, then select your school to see which school it feeds into.

How can I find my Priority School Zone?

Each KIPP Texas school resides in a geographic priority zone. All students’ home addresses are zoned to specific KIPP Texas Public Schools. Applicants who live within those priority zones will receive priority for that school. Families requesting a transfer from one KIPP school to another must select their “priority zoned school.”

If your zip code is listed under selected schools, that is considered your “Priority Zoned School.”

How do I know if you’ve received my transfer request?

Once the transfer request form has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation message and a copy of your form responses in your email.

I submitted the transfer request; what’s next?

The KIPP Texas Transfer Committee will review transfer requests once the window has closed. Within the following two weeks, you will receive a notification through email of the decision.
