
Latasha Henry
Interim School Leader
Latasha Henry is an educator in Houston, TX who has served 22 years in the field of Education. She is currently an Assistant Principal of Instruction at KIPP Zenith Academy where she serves as an Assistant Principal of Instruction for 3rd-4th Grade Literacy. Previously, she served at Pleasant Grove Primary where she served as a Founding Lead teacher, Grade Level Chair, Instructional Coach, and Assistant Principal. She was a participant in the 2019-2020 Inaugural Striving School Leader cohort for KIPP Texas. Latasha was also selected to participate in the Inaugural cohort for the Principal-In-Residency program in Dallas, Texas. She is a native of Milwaukee, WI and received her M.S. in Educational Leadership and her Director of Instructor license from Cardinal Stritch University. She has also served in the Milwaukee Public School system as a 1st and 2nd Grade Teacher, Instructional Coach, Curriculum Generalist, and Academic Dean. Her passion for literacy led her to Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI where she received her Reading 316 license. Her involvement as the Project Director of the Milwaukee Summer Reading Project yielded successful results with teacher development, increasing student literacy levels, and helping students gain a love for reading. Her ability to develop leaders is demonstrated through the coaching and professional development she provides in schools and throughout the community. In her spare time she likes to travel with her family, enjoy good cuisine, and read a good book!
