This first week of May, we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. We couldn’t be more excited to shine the spotlight on our extraordinary KIPP Texas educators, who are the core of our organization. We can’t thank them enough for the time, energy, and passion they exude each day across our 59 KIPP Texas schools.
Throughout Austin, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and San Antonio, our nearly 1,845 teachers Champion Equity while providing an academically excellent education for our 32,000 Little KIPPsters. With 70% of our teachers identifying as Black, Latinx, or Hispanic, they represent the faces of Little KIPPsters and, together, Persist with Purpose.
It has been an exciting Spring semester as KIPP Texas is recognized as being among the best high schools in Texas! Four KIPP Texas high schools were ranked among the top high schools in the nation by the Jay Mathews Challenge Index High School Rankings, formerly known as America’s Most Challenging High Schools, published in The Washington Post.
