KIPP Texas Families,
The first day of the school year is finally here! Whether your Little KIPPster is starting school for the first time ever or they are entering their senior year, the excitement of the first day of school is unlike another day of the year. The first day of school marks a significant milestone—a fresh start filled with boundless opportunities for our Little KIPPsters and their families.
In the coming days, with the partnership of our dedicated teachers and leaders, we will lay the foundation for a year of growth and learning. We chose our organization-wide theme for the year, “On Our Way to A,” to powerfully create a sense of unity, purpose, and direction. Our direction is forward, on the path to becoming an A-rated school system. I am confident that our collective efforts with you, our families, will lead to remarkable accomplishments. We will approach each day with purpose and an unwavering commitment to Chase Excellence.
KIPP Texas families, your support, encouragement, and involvement make our schools extraordinary. We understand that each child’s success is a collaboration between home and school, and we’re committed to working hand-in-hand with you to provide the best possible educational experience for your Little KIPPsters. Please ensure that your Little KIPPsters attend school every day on time to receive the best possible education in a safe environment.
Enhanced Safety Across KIPP Texas
KIPP Texas is committed to continually evaluating our safety protocols to provide the safest and most welcoming environment for our Little and Big KIPPsters to learn, grow and thrive. Over the summer, we have taken steps across the state to improve school safety, including adding fencing and ballistic (projectile-resistant) glass where necessary. We also focused on emergency response, crisis prevention, and summer professional learning for all KIPP Texas staff. In addition, as mandated by HB3, we are adding armed guards at every school who will solely provide security for our campuses. They will not be involved in student discipline or law enforcement activities.
Thank you, families, for entrusting us with your child’s education in our brave and belonging schools. It’ll be a year to remember as we make our way to being an A-rated school system!
Have a joyful first day of school!
