Celebrating HERstory this Women’s History Month

Dear KIPP Texas families,

Women’s History Month is off to a fantastic start! While it happened right before the month began, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention a HERstoric moment! President Joe Biden nominated Judge Kentaji Brown Jackson to serve as the next Justice for the United States Supreme Court, making her the first Black woman to ever receive this nomination. Women, particularly women of color, continue to shatter glass ceilings and exemplify possibilities for girls and women worldwide. Late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg once said, “Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn’t be that women are the exception.” It is inspiring to see that as a possibility again in America’s highest court.

Spring Break is officially underway for our Austin, Dallas, and Houston KIPPsters this week. As a reminder, after all regions return from Spring Break, we will revisit our COVID protocols and share them with you and our KIPP Texas families before the end of the month.

Have a great week!

With Gratitude,
Sehba Ali
