KIPP Texas Together: February Family Newsletter

A Message from the ceo

KIPP employee

KIPP Texas Families,

We’re kicking off Black History Month, a time to honor the powerful legacies of trailblazers who have shaped our nation’s history while celebrating our KIPPsters—future leaders ready to make their own mark on the world. As we reflect on the strength and resilience of those who came before us, we also take this moment to assess our progress and the strides we’re making toward our goals.

Just before Winter Break, our students took Interim Assessments and Early Literacy Assessments to show what they had learned since the start of the school year. I am so proud of their growth! Literacy rates for our Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students have improved by 9% across KIPP Texas, and our 3rd through 12th-grade students are on track to meet our English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) goal.

This semester, we are focused on progress in math, social studies, and science. We’ve refined our curriculum for the semester, and our teachers are prioritizing individualized and small-group instruction to close achievement gaps.

As we celebrate the hard work of our Little KIPPsters, we also celebrate you, our KIPP Texas families. We are so grateful for your partnership and ask for your continued support in ensuring your children attend school every day so they can keep growing and thriving.

If you’d like to learn more about your child’s assessment results, please reach out to their school. Knowing their progress will help us all stay aligned in supporting their success throughout the remainder of the school year.

Thank you for continuing to choose KIPP Texas!

With gratitude,

Sehba Ali
