KIPP CONNECT’s vision is to create a learning community fueled by connections and focused on college readiness. We will empower our students with three fundamental beliefs: We BELONG here; we seize every opportunity to BECOME our best; and together, we PERSIST in pursuing excellence and justice. We create a network of support through advisory meetings and offer a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum through an AP for All courses and a growing fine arts program.
Offering athletics in schools is essential for fostering physical health and well-being among students, promoting an active lifestyle from an early age. Beyond fitness, sports teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, shaping well-rounded individuals prepared for challenges. We offer volleyball, soccer, basketball, and baseball.
All ninth graders enroll in AP Human Geography, and all tenth graders enroll in AP World History. Students take two English courses per year – focused on literature and composition – and all ninth graders enroll in two math courses to accelerate their progress toward an Advanced Placement math course before graduation. Students engage in an advisory daily to build community and receive support and guidance in pursuit of their academic goals.
Our KIPPsters can participate in many school activities and clubs, including Student Council, the KCHS Literary Magazine, and the math honor society, Mu Alpha Theta.
