It’s almost election time! The deadline to register to vote in the March 1 primary elections is Monday, January 31, 2022.
Use your voice! These races will determine who we’ll see on the November 8 ballot for governor, lieutenant governor, and other state and local races so take advantage of this opportunity to get involved!
If you or anyone you know needs to register, now is the time to get it done! Check your voter registration status here. If your status shows “Active”, you are registered and ready to vote! If your status isn’t “Active” , you will need to complete a voter registration application and return it to your county elections office by Monday at 5pm.
We want to make the process easy for you, so here are a few simple steps you can take to get registered.
- Complete an application using the SOS Online Voter Registration Application. Simply fill in the required information, print, sign and mail directly to your county election office. It is important to note that Texas does not have online voter registration — the form must be signed and mailed or dropped off in-person.
- Contact or visit your local Elections Office to complete the voter registration process.
Save the dates for early voting, taking place February 14-25, the deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is February 18, and Election Day on March 1.
