KIPP Texas Teachers Eligible to Earn Thousands More Than Peers Through Professional Development & Performance Incentives

At KIPP Texas Public Schools, we believe excellent teaching is the key to delivering on promises to students and families. The work our teachers do daily is the most important work in our organization in furthering our mission of creating joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare our students to live choice-filled lives and build a more just world.

We’re proud to offer top-tier base compensation for our teachers across Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, and exciting benefits, recognition, and development opportunities to champion excellence in teaching. Each region offers a competitive salary based on years of experience, and our teachers also have opportunities to earn additional income through retention bonuses, stipends for teachers who join KIPP Texas with master’s degrees and certifications in high needs areas (Ex: Special Education), and other programs. As a result of these opportunities, KIPP Texas has some teachers earning six-figures.

 Teacher Career Pathway

To recognize and celebrate the work of our teachers, we have created the Teacher Career Pathway (TCP) with the goal of developing, recognizing, and rewarding excellent teaching. KIPP Texas teachers on the pathway earn increased compensation (up to $15,000 per year), differentiated professional development opportunities, leadership opportunities, and formal recognition as they advance.

Anjuli Crouch

“The TCP program has been a powerful tool and motivator to ensure my success as an educator and guide my development. Having a measuring stick for success truly drives success, and I’m grateful for the years of work that have gone into the development of this reward program.”

Anjuli Crouch, PreK4 Teacher, KIPP Explore Academy, Houston

Teacher Incentive Allotment

In addition to TCP, KIPP Texas is a Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) approved district, where eligible and qualifying teachers can be designated as a recognized, exemplary, or master teacher within the district and earn up to an additional $32,000 per year as a teacher.

Brandye Thomas, teacher

“Receiving a TIA designation has made me feel my work has been purposeful and recognized. Through the TCP program, I have been challenged to quantify my effectiveness as an instructor. My favorite part of this program is the measurement of student and family experience through panorama.”

Brandye Thomas, Science Teacher, KIPP Truth Academy, Dallas
