KIPP Texas Together: March 2024 Family Newsletter

Our Little KIPPsters are currently taking the TELPAS and Interim Assessment (IA) tests; these tests provide our KIPPsters the opportunity to show what they know and help shape our academic strategies to ensure their continued progress. From the TELPAS and IA assessment results, schools will create plans to support our students.

March will be a busy month of preparation! Please make sure your Little KIPPster attends school every day prepared to learn so we can continue on a path to their academic success to and through college and beyond. STAAR testing will begin in April, and summer will be here before we know it. Let’s take advantage of every moment of learning for our KIPPsters between now and then. 

But March is more than just a busy month—it’s also Women’s History Month! Let’s unite to honor the trailblazers, history makers, and phenomenal women and girls who have shaped our world. From advocating for equality and inclusion to leading change in our communities and schools, these remarkable individuals inspire us to strive for a better and more just world. This month, let’s celebrate the resilience, courage, and achievements of women everywhere!

Spring Break Travel and Attendance 🌸🚗

As we approach Spring Break from March 8 to 15, planning family travels thoughtfully around our academic calendar is essential. Remember, if a Little KIPPster is absent without an excuse for three days or parts of days within four weeks, parents/guardians will receive a warning notice. Continued unexcused absences may lead to a required attendance meeting after the sixth absence. Let’s ensure our students are present and ready for learning!

Family Resources

KIPP Texas Mental Health Support Services 

At KIPP Texas, our licensed social workers and counselors are dedicated to supporting our students. They offer counseling, mediation, and assistance with various mental health and basic needs. KIPPsters can submit a Student Assistance Form, and their campus counselor or social worker will provide prompt support!
