KIPP Paseo Prep will prepare all individuals to navigate a complex, changing world seizing every opportunity to grow into the truest representation of ourselves, in pursuit of our dreams.

We use our assets to positively impact our communities and we embrace all aspects of the journey, creating a more just world. At KIPP Paseo Prep, we have four core beliefs: our individual identity allows us to connect with one another and develop empathy for those similar to and different from ourselves. Working together in the service of others allows us to see ourselves in a larger context and reminds us to show gratitude and humility for the opportunities we earn and are given. We believe access to rigorous and relevant material provides windows and mirrors for students as they prepare for a lifelong journey of learning, growth, and purpose. Finally, our voice is our most profound tool for sharing our strengths, expressing our passions, and creating the future we dare to envision.

Blake Rhyne

School Leader

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Blake Rhyne is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. Blake graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in School Administration. He is currently completing his doctorate in Educational Leadership at Concordia University.

Before coming to Paseo, Blake served as an Assistant Principal and Principal with Kansas City Public Schools. Under Blake's leadership, his school was recognized for Outstanding Growth in Math and Reading.

Before joining Kansas City Public Schools, Blake served as an elementary school teacher, teaching grades 4th & 5th, and a Secondary English and Journalism teacher. As a teacher, North Carolina recognized him for being ranked in the top 25% of state educators based on high student growth and performance levels.
