
Kaleena Coleman

Kaleena Coleman is the founding school leader of KIPP Unity Primary. Prior to founding KIPP Unity, Ms. Coleman was a Dean at KIPP SHARP College Prep and began her work there as a founding teacher in 2008.
She began her career in education as a 2006 Teach for America Corps Member teaching first grade in Alief ISD. Ms. Coleman has taught first, second, and third grade. She participated in the KIPP School Leadership Team Program in 2012, was a Miles Family Fellow in 2013, and was a Fisher Fellow in 2014. She received her B.A. in Criminology from the University of Southern Maine and her M.A. in Educational Leadership from National Louis University. In the summer of 2018, Ms. Coleman attended the National Institute for Urban School Leaders at Harvard University. She is motivated by her belief that all students deserve an excellent education so that they can live a life filled with opportunity and choice.
