KIPP University Prep High School offers the world’s premier college-preparatory curriculum: the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, completed in the junior and senior years. All students participate in pre-IB classes, including at least one Advanced Placement (AP) course beginning their freshman year.

All courses are open to all students regardless of their academic performance, ability to speak English, or placement in Special Education or 504 programs, setting UPrep’s IB program apart from the vast majority of IB programs around the world.

Students have the opportunity to earn college credit through IB classes and to complete their IB KIPP diploma; students participate in an introductory philosophy course called Theory of Knowledge, complete a portfolio of Creative, Activity, and Service (CAS), and write an extended research essay on a topic of their choice. In addition to the world-class IB curriculum, UPrep is proud to offer one of the state’s few dual-credit Mexican-American Studies classes through a partnership with Palo Alto College.
