KIPP Texas Public Schools’ new student application season for the 2022-23 school year opened today! So that our prospective families know what to expect, we have listed answers to some of our most frequently asked questions about the application process.

What is KIPP Texas’ application process?
Applications: Applying to KIPP Texas is easy and takes just a few minutes. If you’re interested in sending your student to a KIPP Texas Public School for the 2022-23 school year, please visit our website to complete a student application. Applications are accepted all year. However, to participate in the lottery, applications are due by February 14th, 2022.
A lottery will be held on February 28, 2022, to determine which students will be offered available seats at each KIPP Texas school. We will extend admission offers starting on February 28, 2022.
Waitlist: Students who are not selected to attend KIPP Texas through the lottery will be placed on a waitlist in a randomly determined order. Don’t worry though! If a spot becomes available, students will be selected from the waitlist, and parents will be notified and informed of the next steps. Any application received after February 14 will be placed on the waitlist in the order it was received. KIPP Texas will continue to extend admissions offers through the start of the 2022-23 school year.
Registration: Once you accept an offer, you may start the registration packet immediately for the 2022-23 school year. Note: Pre-K3 and pre-K4 registration launches on April 1. For these students, please accept your offer upon receipt, and we will notify you when registration is open.
Do I need to apply again if my child already attends a KIPP Texas Public school? 
No. Students who currently attend a KIPP Texas school will be asked to re-enroll from January 10 – January 31, 2022.
I have a child who already attends KIPP and I want their sibling to attend next year. When do sibling applications open?
We would love to welcome your other children as Little KIPPsters! The window for sibling applications is from October 8 – December 15. Just be sure to click “Yes” for the “I have another child attending this charter school” option when you apply on SchoolMint.
