Dear KIPP Texas Families,
I would love for you to watch this Core Values video and the triumphant story of KIPP University Prep alumna, Maya Maldonado. As a Team & Family, we: Champion Equity, Rise Together, Chase Excellence, Persist with Purpose and Bring Joy for our KIPPsters, and I saw a glimpse of each of those core values throughout the story. Maya’s journey reminded me that the power of actions of love and support knows no bounds.
Mask Mandate Effective This Wednesday
Starting Wednesday, November 17, KIPP Texas will reinforce a mandate mask for staff and students.
You may also be wondering, what is different now than a couple of months ago? Last week, a federal judge in Austin overturned Governor Abbott’s school mask mandate ban, giving school districts in Texas the authority to enforce mask mandates.
This is a positive step forward in our efforts to protect our KIPP Texas community. We know that enforcing a mask mandate will create a safer environment for us all as we continue to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Starting Wednesday, all staff and students must wear a mask at all times when on a KIPP campus, office, or school bus. Thank you for your commitment to #MaskUpforKIPPsters.
Next week is Thanksgiving break! While I will be away from work, you will all be on my mind and in my heart because I am so very grateful for each of you. During the week-long break, I hope you enjoy every moment with your family and friends and that our Little KIPPsters come back to school refreshed and ready to finish the semester strong on Monday, November 29.
Happy early Thanksgiving!
