KIPP Sunnyside High School

KIPP Sunnyside High School’s academic and co-curricular programs provide a college preparatory experience that empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to go to and through college. We are committed to the growth and achievement of all students in a nurturing environment. Our graduates are empowered to take ownership of their lives and possess the knowledge, skills, and courage to succeed in college and beyond.

At KIPP Sunnyside, our Senators thrive inside and outside the classroom. We are the reigning HCAL boys basketball, girls and boys track and field, and football champions.

KIPP Sunnyside High School strives for high academic achievement for all our KIPPsters. KSHS offers multiple AP courses, including AP Spanish Language, AP English Literature, AP English language, AP biology, AP calculus, AP US history, and more. In addition, the school offers two seminar courses during the junior and senior years, focusing on supporting our students through the college application process, including helping students as they prepare for the ACT exam. Additionally, we are proud to have an award-winning STEM program with classes that include forensic science, computer science, and others.

KIPP Sunnyside High School has earned recognition as one of Texas’ top-performing public charter high schools by the U.S. News & World Report. In Houston’s public charter high school landscape, KIPP Sunnyside is the 22nd highest-ranked charter high school, a testament to the dedication and excellence of our school community.

KIPP Sunnyside High School helps students develop their non-academic talents by providing other extra-curricular activities after school, like the Jr. National Society of Black Engineers, Jr. National Society of Hispanic Engineers, the Robotics Club, and the Sunnyside Dance Company.
