KIPP Texas Together: January Family Newsletter

A Message from the ceo

Dear KIPP Texas Families,

I hope you and your loved ones are safe and warm. Thank you for your partnership as we worked to keep our Little KIPPsters safe during the recent winter storm.  As we return to normal school operations, I recognize that we are currently in a season of incredible momentum, and it is a joy to celebrate the profound growth our KIPPsters have achieved together thus far.

We are now entering a particularly significant time for our community as we shine a spotlight on our upcoming lottery season and the path toward graduation. At KIPP Texas, we believe that every student deserves an equal opportunity to be a KIPPster regardless of their zip code or academic background. Our lottery is a fair and transparent process because we are committed to giving more students the chance to excel in our tuition-free public charter schools. We encourage you to share this opportunity with your friends and neighbors. Although our application deadline has passed, interested families can still join our waitlist for the chance for their children to join our journey of excellence.

We are also looking forward to our upcoming graduation ceremonies. These milestones are a testament to years of hard work, and we are eager to cheer on our seniors as they joyfully showcase their growth and reach the academic goals they have pursued so tirelessly. Whether it is a new family awaiting their lottery results or a senior preparing for the commencement stage, we remain focused on the road ahead. We are ready to celebrate every milestone through spring testing and the final push toward graduation. The energy and love you pour into your children during this busy season will fuel their success for the remainder of the year, and I am honored to stand alongside you as we witness their dreams take flight.

With deepest gratitude,

Sehba Ali

New at KIPP Texas: Books at the Touch of a Button! 📚

Literacy is the foundation of everything we do, and earlier this month, we celebrated a new way to inspire our students. Thanks to a generous donation from Joe V’s Smart Shop and Superior Text, our students at KIPP SHINE Prep and KIPP CONNECT Primary were the first to experience our new book vending machines! These machines are a creative way to promote a lifelong love of reading. We are so grateful for our community partners who make these moments possible. Keep an eye out as we prepare to roll out two more machines at KIPP Nexus and KIPP Legacy soon!

Applications submitted after the application deadline will still be accepted, but will be placed on the waitlist in the order received. Reminder: The KIPP Texas lottery is only for NEW students.
