Re-enrollment and COVID Updates

Team,

I hope you enjoyed your three-day weekend! Not only was it a time for recovery after a busy first two weeks in January, but it was also time to reflect on the profound work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as we honored him yesterday as a Team & Family and as a nation. His legacy lives on in the work we do every day. I am often reminded of his powerful words and actions that our Little KIPPsters can learn from and use in their lives and pursuit of education.

I encourage you to watch or re-watch this video of our Little KIPPsters from KIPP Destiny Elementary reciting portions of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. It warms my heart every time to know that our KIPPsters are learning such important history while acknowledging our nation’s progress and recognizing how far we still have to go in the fight to champion equity as a nation.

COVID Updates

Thank you all for your commitment to Health & Safety. It has been a challenging first two weeks of school, but it would have been impossible without your support.

Due to the continued surge of Omicron, we have extended some of our restrictions through January 31, including:

  • Masks –  Required (surgical style, KN95/KF94, or doubled cloth masks) at all times when in a KIPP building except when actively eating or drinking
  • Field trips –  Not permitted at this time
  • Athletics – No spectators permitted; athletes must wear surgical style masks during practice and games; and, when possible, we will test all athletes and coaches twice a week
  • Visitors – Visitors are only allowed on campus by appointment

As of now, all of our schools remain open and our protocols have not changed since my note to you on Tuesday, January 12. For an update of our COVID case numbers, you can review our KIPP Texas COVID-19 Dashboard at any time.

As we continue to navigate this surge, I promise to always keep you informed, prioritize Little KIPPsters’ learning, and ensure Little and Big KIPPsters’ health and safety are top of mind in all that we do as a Team & Family.

Re-Enrollment is Open for the 2022-23 School Year

We love that you’re a part of our Team & Family! Re-enrollment is now open for the 2022-23 school year for KIPP Texas families with students in Pre-K -11th grade.

Did you know that KIPP Texas students graduate at a rate 4x higher than the national average for students in educationally underserved neighborhoods? Also, staying with KIPP through high school ensures that your child participates in an aligned academic curriculum that builds throughout their time at KIPP.

Please visit our re-enrollment website for quick and easy steps about the re-enrollment process. Also, see our list of frequently asked questions here
