KIPP Courage College Prep opened at Landrum Middle School in July of 2012 and is part of the SKY Partnership with Spring Branch Independent School District and YES Prep Public Schools. At KIPP Courage we learn the value of hard work by engaging in a rigorous curriculum of academics, arts, and athletics. KIPP Courage builds self-mastery in our students by creating collaborative, relationship-focused small groups that value the individual and his or her contribution to the community. As a result of this work, our KIPPsters enter high school with the courage that will carry them to and through college and life.

Kelsey Lyman

School Leader

Kelsey is currently the School Leader at KIPP Courage College Prep, after spending the last two years as the School Leader of KIPP 3D Academy. Kelsey came to KIPP 3D as a student teacher in an 8th grade ELA classroom and finished out her first year at 3D as a permanent substitute prior to teaching 5th grade. Kelsey’s grandmother was an elementary school librarian who instilled in Kelsey a love of reading at a very early age. She passed on that same passion for reading to her students through teaching 5th grade ELA for three years. She received her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University in 2011 and her M.Ed. from the University of Houston in 2016.
