KIPP Explore opened its doors to the community in fall 2009. located in the heart of the vibrant East End community. At Explore, we believe that all our students can live by our BRIGHT values for success in school and beyond — Believe, Reach, Imagine, Give, Honor and Trust. KIPP Explore is a school where our innovative staff provides a college-preparatory experience that empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to go to and through college.

KIPP Explore educates college-bound students from Pre K3 through fourth grade. Students at Explore come from Houston’s East End community. Our student body is 96% Hispanic and 2% African-American. Explore’s diverse faculty provides a rigorous college-preparatory education with an emphasis on technology and the school’s BRIGHT core values.

KIPP Explore helps students develop their non-academic talents by providing other extra-curricular activities after school, including baseball, soccer, theater and choir.

Amy Stabile is the current school leader at KIPP Explore Academy. She began teaching as a Teach for America Corps Member at Garcia Elementary in Houston Independent School District. In 2012, Ms. Stabile moved to KIPP Explore as a founding pre-kindergarten teacher. She then moved into a dean of instruction role where she managed the kindergarten and first grade teams as well as the implementation of a school-wide data system. Ms. Stabile then became an assistant principal managing the PK4 and kindergarten teams for two years. Ms. Stabile earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and Human Development from Boston College as a member of the Lynch School of Education Honors Program, and her Master’s in Business Administration from Rice University as a member of the Rice Educational Entrepreneurship Program.
