Meet Your School Leader
Mayra Gonzalez-Moreno joined KIPP Texas at KIPP Explore Academy in 2010 as a Kindergarten Teaching Fellow. Since then, she has held multiple roles including grade level chair, BRIGHT values chair, relay fellow advisor, dean of instruction, assistant principal, and principal-in-residence. Previously, she worked in special education at De Zavala Elementary in Houston ISD. With a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Downtown and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Houston RELAY Graduate School of Education, Ms. Gonzalez-Moreno is now excited to lead KIPP Explore Academy in the East End Community, continuing her passion for education and community involvement.
